Babynames do they sound good ?

okay i just found out i mpregnant im white the babys daddy is black so the child is going to have a african name. I dont know if its a boy or girl yet let me know what yall think for a girl i chose Kieonna Kay and for a boy i chose Kieazi kyroan

Babynames do they sound good ?
Kianna is nice. And just because the dad is black and your white doesn't mean anything. I have friends who are in the same boat, and they named their son Josh.
Reply:WHY, WHY, WHY all the vowels? They are unnecessary to pronounce the name and your child will FOREVER be spelling and respelling it for everybody (relatives, friends, coworkers, bosses, teachers, acquaintances, the federal government...)

Kionna Kay

Kyazi Kyrone

(I am only guessing these are the pronunciations you intended)

Best of luck with your baby!
Reply:Kieonna Kay is gorgeous.

Actually, they both are.

But not all african people have african names?

Plenty of african people have english names too, so even if you want an english name it doesnt matter :)

hope I helped.
Reply:I dont even know how to pronounce those.... do they even mean anything? You could still give your child a uniqe name without giving them the burden of correcting everyone they meet on how to say their name.
Reply:I have no idea how to say those.
Reply:I have no idea how to pronounce those names :P

Babynames with Initials RUG?

I would like my baby to have the initials of RUG excluding last name. I know this spells rug, but it is the initials of relatives that have passed away. I was thinking Rachel, but would like more options. The more names, the better. Please do not list them as combos but put all the R names together, U names together and the G names together. Answer with most names gets 10 points!

Thanks!

~Debra

Any Good Babynames Out There?

Well,my sister is 38 weeks pregnant and she's having twins.

She's still thinking of names, and she really wants a unique name.

We are thinking that the babies will come out like us..with black hair and sky blue eyes. Her husband has light brown hair and blue eyes and we know black is dominant so we're are inferring that the babies might come out like us(black hair/w skyblue eyes).

She's having a boy and a girl..so if you have any ideas, feel free to share them.

Babynames. what do i call a baby. boy/girl?

what do you call your baby

Babynames. what do i call a baby. boy/girl?
Could you clarify the question? Are you asking what terms we used before we knew whether it was a boy/girl and/or before we had picked out a name? If so...

We used terms like "baby" or "little one" or some such other little nickname/term-of-endearment... I didn't like calling the child "it", and tried my hardest to not use the term!

I did it...I love BryleyTaylor and Aden Riley.
Reply:i think they all are very unquie i like them all.
Reply:I think Aden is cute for a boy, but I really DONT like Bryley for a girl. I think that sounds too masculine for a girl. I suggest using Taylor or Madeline as a first name for your girl instead of a middle name. I also like Riley or Isaac as a first name for a boy too.

Greek babynames help please????

i want my childern to have greek names but they r from an important person and im having trouble thinkin of girls names

the 2 boys names i chose are Achilles %26amp;%26amp; Alexander because the great fighter Achilles %26amp;%26amp; Alexander the great

if you have any girls names could you please tell me

1.the name.

2.the pernunciation[sp?]

3.what she did in greek history

%26amp;%26amp; what do you think of the boys names??

Greek babynames help please????
Girl's Names:

Aglaia (ah-GLAE-ah): one of the three graces

Andromache (an-drah-MAH-kee): the wife of Hector of Troy.

Antigone (an-TI-goh-nee): daughter of Oedipus, very headstrong and did what she believed was right.

Artemis (Ar-tem-is): Maiden goddess; goddess of the hunt

Astraea (As-TRY-ah): Goddess of justice, became the constellation Virgo

Briseis (bri-SAY-is): Lover of Achilles

Elpis (ELL-pis): The element of Hope, the last thing Pandora let out of the box.

Gaea (GY-ah): Mother earth

Hermione (her-MY-oh-nee): Daughter of Menelaus and Helen of Troy.

Ilithyia (ill-ITH-ee-yah): Goddess of childbirth

Ismene (is-MAY-nee): Daughter of Oedipus and sister to Antigone.

Maia (MY-ah): Mother of Hermes

Marmara (MAR-mah-rah): The sea of Marmara

Phaedra (FAY-drah): Wife of Theseus

Thalia (either TAL-ee-yah or THAL-ee-yah): Muse of comedy

Although both of the boys names are epic and great, I think giving one a common name like Alexander and the other an obscure name like Achilles is setting up for a lifetime of jealousy and teasing.

This is a link that shows Greek names and how they relate to Greek myth and history (usually by clicking on the "more" after the name). Hope this all helps.

http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/gre-myt...
Reply:I like Eirene (ihr.re.ne) greek for Peace, and goddess of peace. Are Arete (Ah.re.te, or Ah.ree.tee) greek for exelence. Telemacus' nurse in the Odyssey. For boys, Persius, choped off the head of Madusa or Theseus who killed the Minotaur. Achilles and Alexander are great names, they are just a little too populor. Alex is very common and everyone knows Achilles.
Reply:Hi! I can help with parts of your questions. A girl's version of Alexander can be Alexandra or Alexandria, pronounced similar to Alexander. They weren't actual people in history, they're just feminine versions of the boys' names.

Reply:Aphrodite the goodness of love

Casandra daughter of king Priam
Reply:Atenea, goddess.

Afrodita, goddess

Where can I find a list of real Native American Indian Names...not babynames?
I am Cherokee,

The book I have is called.."YOUR NAME in tsalagi"...or "YOUR NAME in Cherokee"...

by PrenticeRobinson...he is Cherokee and teaches the Cherokee language.

This book gives regular names...for instance,

my name is Marsha...which in Cherokee is: MASYA, this book covers all the regular names...but gives the Cherokee way of saying and spelling each name.

Also go to your search, type in ...Native American Names.

Search around you will find what you want...You did not specify what tribe so I just took it for granted you meant any tribe...
Reply:ACTUAL GIVEN NATIVE NAMES ARE SACRED, AND USUALLY NOT SHARED WITH ANYONE OUTSIDE THE TRIBE UNTIL THE NAME IS ACTUALLY GIVEN TO THEM...IT DEPENDS ON THE TRIBE AND WHERE THEY STAND WITH UPHOLDING TRADITIONAL BELIEFS...I KNOW THAT WITHIN MY FAMILY, THE NAMES ARE CHOSEN BY THE ELDEST(USUALLY GRANDPARENT), AND A NAME CANNOT BE GIVEN TWICE...IT'S A GREAT HONOR TO BE GIVEN A NAME, BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE IS GIVEN ONE...

SO I GUESS I DON'T REALLY HAVE AN ANSWER, SORRY...

When im bored i pick out babynames..?
i like Austin Lee %26amp; Alyisha Michelle.
Reply:I like all of them. One thing to consider is that if you give a child a unique name or a "common" name with a unique spelling, that child will have a lot of people mess up her name. Then again, if the name is unique, the child will be seen as unique too!

Babynames babynames babynames?

Ok, I know I've asked for these opinions a million times but I'm asking for them again because they always change.

Fiance' and I have decided on names for kids. What do you think?

Charles Ernest Sansone 3rd (Freeman or Thomas as nickname)

Adalyn Nicole Sansone

We like the Lyn so please don't be rude, just give opinions

Babynames babynames babynames?
I dont understand why your nicknames have nothing to do with the name that you are going to call the baby? If you have Charles you can call him Charlie which is cute.

I dont usually like such unusual names but I really like Adalyn
Reply:i like the name Adalyn. Its very cute and unique but the middle name is very common, unless you like common. I just remember being in class and having a Nicole A, Nicole B and Nicole C and then a Ashley D, Ashley K. and so on but its also a middle name so it wont be heard but the first name is very cute and unique, stick with it. : )
Reply:I love Adalyn Nicole... I find it better to either have a plain first and interesting middle or vice versa, and I like this combination.

Charles Sansone, I like... Ernest, unless it's traditional, may be made fun of by people who dont know any better

Reply:i really really like the name, ELIZABETH MARIE, EMILY ANN, ASHLEY NICOLE for girls,

AYDEN MICHAEL, ADAM SCOTT, JOHNATHON DAKOTA, for boys
Reply:Since you like the names ending with -Lyn, why don't you go for either...

Emmalyn, Tierralyn (pronounced as Tiara Lyn), Michellelynn, Raelyn, Jamielyn :)
Reply:Adalyn is interesting - for the female name. I would look for a better middle name - Nicole is too commonly used.

I like yours for the girl and his for the boy.

in any case, I like Evelyn and Chase...Jayden is SOOOOO overused. I mean, every other kid these days is named that, boy and girl. So I would either go with Chase or come up with something else.
Reply:I really liek the name Eve so yours is nice however, personally i prefer original or exotic names so I like his girl name a little more. The boy names aren't really original so I dont have an opinion on those.

Are you sick of kids using the the babynames section because they think they are authors?

Anyone Have Any Good Babynames?

My husband and I always fight over names for our children. We have 6 beautiful kids and are expecting twins (Our 7th %26amp; 8th. I know we're crazy) and we thought it would be nice to get some opinions since we both have very different tastes. I tend to go more towards names like Ava, Emma, and Anna and my husband likes names like London, Ryleigh, and Teighlor. Any suggestions?

Do you know the most accurate babyname site and not babynames.com because its very inaccurate?

behindthename.com is good, but that also makes mistakes sometimes. If you are a member, you can submit information though and correct it if it appears to be wrong.

Believe it or not, I've found Wikipedia actually very good on baby names!

If behindthename gives me a bit of a dud interpretation of a name, my next port of call is Wikipedia.

I haven't found anything better than the combination of these two sites.

Babynamesworld.com is pretty accurate and the one I use frequently. You are right about babynames.com. It is very inaccurate. They list James as a unisex name, and it is no where near being unisex.

Do you think babynames.com should have a pronunciation tool?

LIke m-w.com does for words, where a guy or girl says the name and you can hear it if you click on the speaker?

I think that would be super convenient since there are a lot of names I love the look/spelling of, and I think I like the sound of them but I am not sure if I am pronouncing them correctly.

Do you think babynames.com should have a pronunciation tool?
yes, defiantly baby namer has one and i think all of them should!
Reply:Yes def!! i find it very hard to pronounce alot of names as i like the unique ones.

Reply:the most unique name that i have ever heard is Xochitl. thats my best friends name. Xochitl (sochee) it is Mexican and it is named after a princess in Mexico, its also the Christmas flower, i think you have seen it its that red pretty flower.its a girls name by the way.
Reply:take some of these people's advice and check out those website, but please don't torture your child. take into account that this kid will have to live with this name for the rest of it's life, through grade school where kids just like to be mean for fun, and college where it will end up with every mean nickname you can come up with. I have a friend who is naming her baby boy Rowdy Leigh... Rowdy is bad enough but to pair it with the female spelling of Lee is just setting this kid up for a lifetime of teasing.

Bennett: A very cute name, I think the nickname Ben is also nice, it's becoming even as just a nickname because you can picture it on a person of any age. TU 8/10

Boy Connor: My brother's name, really cute and Irish sounding while still being masculine and appealing to a vast majority of people. TU 8/10

Boy Donovan: Not really a favorite of mine, it just doesn't have an appealing sound and I don't like the nicknames Don, Donnie etc. TD 4/10

Boy Gavin: Cute, an uncommon name that's still masculine and not unheard of, it's just the right balance of being different but having an old-fashioned flare. TU 7/10

Boy Jason: I've never been a huge fan of Jason, I don't love it, don't hate it, but I actually really love it's meaning. TU 5/10

Boy George: This name just rubs me the wrong way, it's old-fashioned but it doesn't suit my personal tastes. TD 3/10

Boy Keenan: This name isn't my style either, it sounds so awkward to me, I don't think it looks very masculine on paper either because it ends in -an but that's just my opinion. TD 3/10

Boy Leland: This name is okay, I've seen better but I've seen worse, it has a certain quality to the sound that I could see growing on me. TU 5/10

Boy Nathan: Cute, simple and classic. Very strong name. TU 7/10

Boy Nathaniel: Stunning, old-fashioned, masculine and less common than Nathan. TU 9/10

Boy Tanner: I prefer this as a surname, it just doesn't seem very masculine and makes me want to use it as a word. "Those tanners are so prone to getting skin cancer." That's just me being weird though. TD 4/10

Boy Weston: Love this name, I think Wesley seems a little more first/middle name like and Weston more like a surname but it's just adorable and Wes is nice too, I recently lost someone named Wes. TU 7/10

Girl Alaina: I'm a little uncertain about Elaina with an 'A' but it could work, I like other names spelled with 'A's that were's originally supposed to be, so I thought, why not. TU 5/10 (I like Alivia too :p)

Girl Annie: Great as a nickname but not so much a first name, it's cute though. You might want to try: Anne, Anna, Annabelle, Annabella, Anya, Annika etc. TU 5/10

Girl Brooklyn: I've never really liked place names and this one is pretty close to the top of the list of names I dislike. Sorry, it's just my preference. TD 1/10

Girl Clara: I love this name, it's surprisingly underused and much more fluid and feminine than Claire. TU 9/10 Stunning.

Girl Emma: Very cute name despite being so popular, it's very timeless and elegant. TU 9/10

Girl Emmeline: Love this name no matter how you pronounce it, it's so cute and flirty. Originally I pronounce it Emma-line which is old-fashioned and warm feeling but I also like is said Emma-leen or Emma-lynn TU 7/10

Girl Gloria: I don't really like this name, though it seems like it may be a family name, in which case more power to you, please use it. As is: TD 4/10

Girl Gwendolyn: This name has grown on me a lot lately I never used to like it but I think it's alright now. TU 5/10

Girl Jasmine: A trendy flower name that doesn't have the elegance of Rose, Lily, and others in my opinion. (Sorry just preference) TD 4/10

Girl Katherine: I like this name spelled better with a 'C' if you're using it as a first name because it looks softer but it's best with a K for a middle name to provide some food for thought. It's very strong, timeless and becoming. TU 7/10

Girl Kristen: I've never really liked any Kr/Chr names aside from Christine, sorry so say. They're just not my style. TD 4/10

Girl Kristie: Seems like a nickname, same reasoning as above TD 4/10

Girl Laney: I like this as a nickname for Alaina. TU 5/10 I also like it spelled Lainey

Girl Laura: Strong, old-fashioned and feminine. TU 6/10

Girl Leona: Cute name, it sounds Italian which I like. TU 5/10

Girl Lydia: Love this name, it's surprisingly uncommon, much like Clara but it's also gorgeous. TU 6/10

Girl Marcella: This name is okay, I don't love it, don't hate it, but it does remind me of Marsala (a type of wine) TU 5/10

Girl Melanie: I like this name, it's cute but not a favorite, this could also be a full name for Lainey or Laney TU 5.5/10

Girl Monica: Not really my style, I had a bad experience with a Monica growing up so it's effected my opinion of the name TD 3/10

Girl Noelle: Cute as a middle name, I like the meaning behind this name too TU 6/10

Girl Paige: I've never liked this name, just not my style. TD 4/10

Girl Shannon: Same as above, just never really liked it TD 4/10

Overall you've got some great names and some okay ones, it was a really nice list and I had fun rating the names. Sorry about the thumbs downs though.

Overall Favorite Names: Nathaniel %26amp; Clara

Overall Least Favorite Names: Keenan and Brooklyn

Good Name By Association: Weston (Will always have a soft spot in my heart for this one)

Bad Name By Association: Monica

Favorite Ideal Combinations: Clara Noelle and Nathaniel Leland
Reply:I voted!

Boys favorites:

Weston -- #1 favorite; solid, masculine, and not too common

Leland -- daring because it's so old-fashioned

Gavin -- love it, but I'm afraid it's too common

Bennett -- good "snappy" choice that sounds at home with modern names

Boys' least favorites:

Donovan -- I really should like this name (it suits my style and it was on my list for a while) but it sounds like someone who would try to seduce you. Weird, huh?

Tanner -- Too trendy

Keenan -- Makes me think of the Nickelodeon show "Keenan and Kell"

The others:

Nathan/Nathaniel -- good solid classics

Jason -- a little 80's sounding, but it fits in with current naming trends, so it could work

Connor -- it's a bit common, but I prefer it to Tanner since it has more history as a first name

George -- not as "in" as some other kingly names, but it works as a middle name

Girls' favorites:

Clara -- Love it! Simple, sweet, and underused.

Katherine -- Love it! Classic, elegant, and literary, but a bit more common than I'd like.

Gwendolen -- Love it! Distinctive and regal, but still familiar.

Lydia -- Great uncommon name; literary and biblical

Shannon -- This is a name I shouldn't like, but I really do! It's totally 80's and it was originally a boys' name, but I completely see it's sweet, feminine appeal. Weird, huh?

Girls' least favorites:

Alaina -- It's alright, but it's not very distinctive and has numerous spelling variations. It's one of those names that will blend in with many others and will constantly be misspelled.

Brooklyn -- Very trendy. If you like -lyn names, consider Rosalyn or Evelyn instead.

Kristie/Annie/Laney -- Cute nicknames, but put a more formal first name on the birth certificate. Some adults wouldn't mind being "Annie" in professional contexts, but many would.

Paige -- I'm just not into this one. It sounds too modern and masculine. If you like one syllable names, there are tons of more interesting options, like Blythe, Bliss, Lark, Wren, True, Eve, Maeve, and such.

The others:

The rest are good names, just not personal favorites. I tend to shy away from Emma because of its commonness, but I still like it.
Reply:Loved:

Bennett, Connor, Gavin, Jason, Nathan, Nathaniel (but I like Nathan better), and Weston

Alaina, Emma, Emmeline, Laura, Leona, and Noelle

Didn't like the rest of them.

Now, something to say about Annie. I love the nickname! I am like in love with the nickname Annie, but I don't think that a baby should be named Annie. Maybe Anne or Annabel or Annalee, something that has the nickname Annie rather than that just being her name.

Just a suggestion! :)
Reply:my favorite girl name on your list is Laura. It's pretty, classic, underused, and it's not pretentious.

My favorite boy name on your list is Donovan. I'm not sure why...my husband has a friend that I had only heard called Don...I thought his name was Donald. Then I found out that it was short for Donovan and somehow that name just really grew on me. Maybe 'cause I like the guy a lot, I dunno. It's really cute though!
Reply:From the ones I voted on (couldn't vote on all of them), I really like Nathaniel and Kristen.

I don't like Keenan or Gloria.

But, from your entire list I love Jason, Clara, Emma, Lydia, Marcella and Shannon.

Very nice list! =)
